About New World Bakery

The New World Bakery was founded in 1995 by native German Reinhard Haltermann. After spending some time honing his craft at a San Francisco, California-based bakery, Master Baker Reinhard decided to bring his knowledge and years of experience to Austin, where he continues to provide true artisan breads.

German Hubby approved!

I have a very picky hubby when it comes to Bread since he grew up with great breads. He said it’s not perfect but it has the best flavor you can order from a store! Personally I think it tastes great.

Awesome northern european-style bread

Really awesome northern european-style sourdough. Makes amazing toast - lightly crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful in the middle. lather with Boursin cheese and add cucumber on top. Lovely texture.

Not a fan

Did not like the bread. Disappointed with flavor. Did not have sourdough signature flavor. Also, texture suggested the bread was not fresh and that it was at one time frozen. Will not reorder.
